Dental procedures among children are often perceived as painful and fearful. But as a parent, you cannot give a blind eye to the dental problems that your child may be suffering from. The milk teeth of your little ones must be checked regularly to avoid several dental issues. If your child is suffering from any dental problem, visit our clinic and get in touch with our pediatric dentist.

Pediatric dentistry refers to a branch of dentistry that deals with the management and examination of dental health in kids. When you walk into our clinic for pediatric dental treatment, our dentist may perform the following procedures:

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is an effective option in avoiding tooth decay and cavities. Such treatment also prevents the build-up of plaque and keeps the surface of the teeth from hardening. This treatment at our clinic only takes a few minutes to complete. After it, your little one will be asked not to eat, drink, or rinse their mouth for 30 minutes. The said period allows the teeth to absorb fluoride properly. This treatment must be repeated once every three, six, or twelve months.

Dental Sealants

Merely brushing the teeth is not enough, especially when it comes to the hard-to-reach areas of the mouth. The toothbrush alone doesn't get between the grooves and cracks of the mouth. If left alone, these cracks may develop tooth decay.

If your little one has developed tooth decay because of this reason, we will recommend and perform a dental sealants procedure. They provide extra protection and keep cavities at bay. Dental sealants are made using plastic resin and are used to harden and bond the deep grooves of the surface of teeth. They are usually recommended as a preventive measure against decay.

Prophylaxis

Dental prophylaxis or cleaning is an in-office treatment that includes cleaning mineralized build-up of the calculus or bacteria-rich plaque. You may consider this procedure for your healthy child twice a year to avoid diseases such as cavities, caries, and the build-up of tartar and plaque and to maintain their overall dental health.
